Swiggy has appointed Himavant Kurnala as Chief Growth and Product Officer – Instamart, expanding his remit as the quick-commerce business continues to scale its product, technology and customer proposition.
Kurnala has led Instamart’s Product charter since 2024, subsequently taking on responsibilities across Growth and Brand Marketing. In his new role, he will bring together Growth, Marketing, Analytics and Product, with the expanded mandate focused on deepening customer value and supporting Instamart’s growth.
Kurnala has been instrumental in Instamart’s move towards an AI-native product and operating model, bringing Product, Design, Analytics and Trust & Safety into a single organisation. His work has included the development of Maxxsaver, multi-pod delivery, the standalone Instamart app, AI-powered search and personalisation, merchandising and pricing, brand portal monetisation and supply-chain efficiencies.
According to Swiggy, these initiatives have contributed to growth in transacting users, orders per day and ad revenue, alongside lower customer acquisition costs.
Kurnala’s expanded role comes alongside two other senior leadership changes at Swiggy. Nitesh Garg has been appointed Chief Technology Officer – Instamart, while Saurav Goyal has been appointed Chief Operating Officer – Food Marketplace.
Garg has spent more than seven years at Swiggy and has led Instamart’s engineering function since its inception. Goyal, who joined Swiggy in 2020, has held leadership roles across Business Finance, Instamart and Driver and Delivery Product and Operations.
Girish Menon, CHRO, Swiggy, said, “Swiggy has always believed that robust leadership comes from investing in our talent, grooming them and giving them a larger canvas to express. Himavant, Nitesh and Saurav exemplify this- each has moved across varied charters and been instrumental in scaling our businesses. Their expanded roles recognise what they have built, and, more importantly, offer an opportunity to take on larger challenges and shape what’s next for Swiggy.”
The appointments follow recent leadership changes across Swiggy, including Nandita Sinha as CEO, Instamart, and Gautam Swaroop as Chief Business Officer, Instamart. Earlier this year, Swapnil Bajpai was elevated to CEO of Swiggy’s Dineout and Scenes business, while Sidharth Bhakoo continues as Chief Business Officer, Swiggy Food Marketplace.
