Swiggy has expanded its partnership with Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), extending its ‘Food on Train’ service to 152 railway stations across India.
The network has grown from 70 stations in February 2025 to 152 stations in February 2026, representing a 117% increase over 12 months. The service now operates across routes spanning Guwahati to Rajkot, and Pathankot to Tirunelveli.
Swiggy has also introduced a Holi-focused offering from February 28 to March 08, 2026. Travellers can order items including Gujiya, Pua and Puran Poli to be delivered to their seats. A flat ₹125 discount is available on orders above ₹399 during the period.
The company has expanded its ‘Train Friendly Dishes’ menu, which uses passenger history and data on 40 cuisines served on the rail network to recommend options. This segment accounts for 22% of total train orders. Holi specials, including sweets and chaats, will be featured within this section.
Speaking of the milestone, Mr. Deepak Maloo, Vice President- Food Strategy, Customer Experience & New Initiatives, Swiggy, said, “We understand that food is an intrinsic part of train journeys and we stay committed to deliver good food and make journeys more memorable for lakhs of travellers every day. This nationwide expansion is perfectly timed for the Holi travel rush. We will be focusing on diversity by doubling down on transit hubs across India—from major junctions to regional stops like Itarsi, Tirunelveli, and Kharagpur —Swiggy is capturing the heart of the Indian train traveller. As millions board trains to return to their roots for the Festival of Colors, the 'home-delivered' experience on train will surely add more flavour to the festivities.”
Swiggy has also expanded its ‘City Best’ selection, a curated list of restaurants available across all 152 stations. According to company data, one in four users engages with this feature when opening the app.
Internal data shows that metro cities including Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru account for 15% of the network, while Tier-1 cities make up 30%. Tier-2 and smaller towns represent 55% of the footprint. Stations such as Nagpur, Kanpur, Surat and Vijayawada record the highest number of train orders.
Ordering patterns vary by location. Itarsi and Ratlam record the highest breakfast orders, Kanpur, Bhopal and Salem lead for lunch, while Nagpur and Vijayawada see the most dinner orders.
