For over 25 years, Himalaya Wellness has been associated with helping young Indians manage pimples and acne through the use of Neem. Continuing this legacy, the brand hosted its inaugural ‘The World of Neem’ event at Taj Lands End, ahead of Pimple Acne Positivity Day, to initiate a conversation around skin care and confidence.
Studies indicate that nearly 4 in 5 young Indians feel less confident in social settings because of pimples and acne. In India, over 20 crore teenagers and young adults experience these skin concerns. Pimple Acne Positivity Day was introduced to address this stigma, promote self-confidence, and spread awareness about simple approaches to skin care.
‘The World of Neem’ event was designed to engage with today’s youth. It highlighted how skincare can be approached in a simple and holistic manner while addressing the stigma often linked to pimples and acne. The event included dermatological experts, celebrity voices, influencers, and brand advocates who contributed to changing the narrative around pimples and acne.
An interactive panel discussion on skin confidence was led by Dr. Rashmi Shetty, dermatologist, cosmetologist, and aesthetic medicine expert, who addressed common myths and spoke about holistic care. Actor Nitanshi Goel, known for her role in Laapataa Ladies, shared personal experiences with skin issues, emphasizing that pimples are a natural part of growing up. Together, they encouraged young audiences to view skin concerns with more openness and positivity.
The event also presented the evolution of Himalaya’s Neem Face Wash, now formulated with a five-part Neem blend aimed at pimple care. This development reflects the ongoing efforts to address pimple-prone skin with solutions that are positioned as gentle and nature-based.
Sharing his insights, Mr. Rajesh Krishnamurthy, Business Director – Consumer Products Division, India, Himalaya Wellness, said, “At Himalaya Wellness, we believe skincare should be gentle, effective, and stigma-free. For over 25 years, our Neem Face Wash has been synonymous with everyday care. With the new 5-parts of Neem formulation, we are strengthening this legacy and empowering people, especially the youth, to embrace their skin with confidence.”
Ms. Ragini Hariharan, Marketing Director – Beauty & Personal Care, Himalaya Wellness, added “Today, consumer trends, especially among Gen Z, show a growing shift towards solutions that are both inspired by nature and science-backed. This event reflects exactly that—showcasing how Neem, trusted for generations, continues to remain relevant in shaping meaningful change in beauty and personal care. With this event, we are embracing every skin journey and creating a space where skincare is gentle, effective, and rooted in care.”
Speaking at the event Mr. Abhishek Ashat, General Manager – Face Care Category, Himalaya Wellness, said, “Himalaya has always believed in making skincare effective, and rooted in nature. Neem has been at the heart of our skincare journey for over two decades, helping millions of consumers trust us with the most common concerns — pimples and acne. Our new 5-parts of Neem formulation is another step in reinforcing this promise, ensuring that skincare is not just about managing pimples, but about embracing skin health holistically.”
The event saw the presence of Bollywood celebrity Nitanshi Goel. She shared, “As someone who is part of a generation often under pressure to look flawless, I believe it’s important to remind ourselves that real skin is beautiful. Himalaya’s World of Neem sends out a message we all need — that we can feel confident and natural, without hiding or feeling ashamed of our skin.”
Dr. Rashmi Shetty, Skin Specialist & Celebrity Dermatologist, who was part of the panel at the event, emphasized the role of Neem in everyday skincare, mentioning, “Pimples are one of the most common skin concerns, and while it is completely natural, the stigma surrounding it often impacts people far more than the condition itself. Neem has been trusted for generations in India for its powerful antibacterial and soothing properties. When used in the right way, it works in harmony with the skin — offering care that is gentle, effective, and science-backed. It not only helps in managing it but also empowers people to feel confident in their own skin.”
Himalaya Wellness has claimed that through its initiative ‘World of Neem’, it is aiming to start a nationwide conversation on breaking skincare stigma and encouraging young people to adopt a holistic approach. As part of this, the brand also claimed it is launching a school program expected to reach over 5 lakh students, focusing on pimple positivity and ways of dealing with pimples.
