Instamart will deliver modak prasad from the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Mandir to households in Mumbai and Pune on 27 August. The service, available via the Instamart app, will offer delivery within 10 minutes.
Located in Pune, the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple is a prominent place of worship that attracts large numbers of devotees. The temple’s modaks are traditionally offered as prasad, and this collaboration aims to make the offering available to those unable to visit in person. Each order will include one modak, priced at ₹50. Stock will be limited to 27 August, with a restriction of one unit per order.
Arjun Choudhary, VP - Revenue and Growth – Instamart, said, “Ganesh Chaturthi is a time of deep devotion across the state, and the Dagdusheth Temple Modaks hold deep significance for devotees during this auspicious period. Every year, lakhs of devotees visit the temple to seek Bappa’s blessings, but we know it isn’t always possible for everyone — whether it’s elderly devotees, those with health challenges, or families who find it difficult to travel through the heavy festive crowds. This initiative allows us to bring the blessings of Dagdusheth Bappa into their homes, ensuring no one misses out on the joy of receiving Bappa’s prasad and blessings.”
Modaks have remained one of the most searched sweets during the festival in recent years. This year, Instamart reported increased interest, with search terms including modak, modak mould, modak peeth, kaju modak, and chocolate modak. Niche queries such as Bhagirathi modak peeth and modak accessories also saw high intent.
Instamart has expanded its seasonal range to include over 25 types of modaks, eco-friendly Ganesh idols, prasad from both the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Mandir and Shri Siddhivinayak Chandicha Ganpati Mandir, as well as a variety of puja items.
