As India’s energy and mobility landscape undergoes a fundamental shift, Jio-bp has appointed Sidheshwar Sharma as its Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Corporate Communications, highly reliable sources have told IMPACT. He has been entrusted with the task of shaping the brand and reputation of one of the country’s fastest-evolving mobility platforms.
IMPACT has also reached out to Jio-bp but did not receive a comment at the time of filing the story.
Jio-bp — the joint venture between Reliance Industries and bp — is expanding beyond traditional fuel retail into a broader multi-energy and digital mobility ecosystem, spanning petrol, diesel, CNG, compressed biogas, EV charging, aviation fuel, and new energy solutions.
Sharma joins from Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, where he led brand and digital transformation initiatives during a period of significant transition for the company. His work included the launch and category-building of EVs, positioning electric mobility not just as a sustainability play, but as a viable, livelihood-enabling solution for India’s last-mile transportation segment.
Over a career spanning more than two decades, Sharma has worked across sectors central to India’s consumption story — payments, petroleum, automotive, and mobility. At Royal Enfield, where he headed GCS, he played a key role in strengthening the brand’s cultural relevance and digital storytelling capabilities across India and international markets. Earlier stints with Visa and Hindustan Petroleum gave him exposure to large-scale retail networks, consumer behaviour, and the intersection of energy and digital payments.
At Jio-bp, Sharma’s remit extends beyond marketing into corporate communications and loyalty, reflecting the company’s intent to build a more integrated narrative across brand, customer experience, and stakeholder engagement. His role will involve shaping how Jio-bp communicates its evolving energy journey.
