Chirantan “CJ” Desai has joined Meta as Chief Enterprise Platform Officer, taking charge of the company’s enterprise efforts and reporting to CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Desai joins Meta from MongoDB, where he served as President and CEO before stepping down from the role effective September 28.
At Meta, Desai will lead a newly formed unit focused on translating the company’s AI capabilities into products for developers and businesses.
Following his departure, MongoDB has appointed former CEO Dev Ittycheria as interim President and CEO, effective immediately. Ittycheria served as MongoDB’s President and CEO from 2014 to 2025, while the company has begun its search for a permanent successor.
Before joining MongoDB, Desai was President, Product & Engineering at Cloudflare for more than a year. He previously spent nearly eight years at ServiceNow and has also held roles at EMC, Symantec and Oracle Corporation, among others.
