The Indian advertising fraternity is mourning the loss of Piyush Pandey, the man whose ideas gave voice, color, and character to brands that defined generations. A legend at Ogilvy, Pandey wasn’t just a creative genius — he was a storyteller who understood India like few others did. From Fevicol’s wit to Cadbury Dairy Milk’s warmth, his campaigns became a reflection of everyday life, stitched together with humour, emotion, and authenticity.
His passing marks the end of an era, but his influence continues to echo through agencies, brands, and the many creative minds he inspired across the world.
Paying tribute, Reed Collins, Chief Creative Officer of Ogilvy Asia Pacific, shared a heartfelt message for his late friend and mentor. “To my dear friend Piyush, I will forever be grateful for your sage advice and forever inspired to keep building on the extraordinary innings you so brilliantly played. Always on the front foot and with aplomb. My Captain, may you rest in eternal peace,” he said.
Through his words, Collins captured not just the creative genius of Piyush Pandey, but the spirit of leadership and mentorship he brought to everyone around him — always guiding, encouraging, and inspiring those who had the privilege to know him.
