Piyush Pandey Enters the One Club of Creativity Hall of Fame

Piyush Pandey’s influence on Indian advertising has now been recognised on an international stage, with the late advertising veteran inducted into The One Club for Creativity’s Creative Hall of Fame as part of its 2026 class.

The induction ceremony was held on September 16 at Capitale in New York, nearly a year after Pandey’s death on October 24, 2025, aged 70.

Widely regarded as the father of modern Indian advertising, Pandey spent more than four decades at Ogilvy, eventually becoming its Global Chief Creative Officer. The One Club recognised him for bringing the language, humour and humanity of everyday India into brand storytelling, while influencing generations of creatives along the way.

The Creative Hall of Fame, established in 1961 with Leo Burnett as its first inductee, honours lifetime achievement across advertising, design and education. Inductees are evaluated on their impact, influence and inspiration.

Ogilvy marked Pandey’s induction with an exclusive film and a programme advertisement presented at the ceremony. The tribute looked at his legacy through his work and the creatives he mentored, while also highlighting his contributions beyond advertising, including his role in India’s polio eradication effort.

Across his career, Pandey was behind several of India’s most recognisable campaigns, including Cadbury Dairy Milk’s ‘Asli Swaad Zindagi Ka’, the Fevicol campaign series and the Polio Eradication campaign with UNICEF.

The 2026 Creative Hall of Fame class also includes Rosie Arnold, formerly of BBH; Janet Champ of Wieden+Kennedy; John C Jay, known for his work with Nike and Uniqlo; Caroline R. Jones, the first Black female vice-president at a major advertising agency; and Joyce King Thomas, the creative lead behind Mastercard’s ‘Priceless’ campaign.

Michael Conrad, former Global Chief Creative Officer at Leo Burnett Worldwide, was inducted into the Educators Hall of Fame during the same ceremony.

Pandey was awarded the Padma Shri in 2016 and the Padma Bhushan earlier this year, adding to a career that left a lasting imprint on Indian advertising and its creative culture.
