Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) is set to appoint Rajesh Kaul as its Chief Revenue Officer, in addition to his current portfolio overseeing sports and international business.
Kaul has been with SPNI since 2008 and previously served as Head of Sports Business, where he led the acquisition of several marquee sports properties for the network. He began his career with ICI Paints and later moved to Modi Entertainment Network. In 1997, he joined ESPN Star Sports, where he spent over 11 years and played a key role in building the network’s distribution and marketing operations nationally. He is also credited with the launch of Star Cricket.
As part of the leadership transition, Makrand Palekar will take over as Business Head of Distribution. Akshay Agrawal will be appointed Business Head of Linear Ad Sales, a position earlier held by Sandeep Mehrotra. Agrawal will report to Rajesh Kaul, along with five other ad sales executives. Manish Aggarwal will assume the role of Head of YouTube and Content Monetisation, while Ranjana Mangla will take charge as Sales Head of Sony LIV.
