Sensodyne has launched a nationwide oral health awareness initiative titled ‘Know Your Dental Age’, aimed at encouraging preventive dental care and improving everyday oral hygiene practices.
The campaign introduces the concept of Dental Age, positioning it as an indicator of oral health. As part of the initiative, Sensodyne has partnered with the Indian Dental Association (IDA) to roll out a Dental Age Test, a digital tool accessible via QR code that helps users assess whether their teeth are ageing faster than expected. The tool also provides guidance on potential concerns and suggested next steps.
According to the company, oral health challenges remain widespread in India, with a majority of individuals seeking treatment only after symptoms become severe. The initiative aims to address this gap by promoting early awareness and encouraging routine care.
The campaign was launched in Delhi in the presence of Smt. Anupriya Patel, along with Dr. Ashok Dhoble, Hon. General Secretary of the Indian Dental Association, and Kedar Lele, CEO India and President India Subcontinent, Haleon. The launch highlighted collaboration between government bodies and private organisations in promoting public health awareness.
As part of the outreach, Sensodyne is extending the initiative to select routes of the Vande Bharat Express, where passengers will have access to oral health information and screenings. The company stated that the effort aims to reach a large number of travellers across the country.
Speaking at the launch, Smt. Anupriya Patel, Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilizers, said: “Oral health is fundamental to overall well-being, yet awareness and timely action remain limited. Initiatives like Sensodyne’s innovative Dental Age Test are integral to bringing preventive care closer to people and encouraging early intervention. Under the National Oral Health Programme, we remain committed to expanding access to affordable, quality dental care, with prevention at the heart of our healthcare vision. Building a healthier, more informed India requires collective effort, and safeguarding oral health is a shared national responsibility.”
Kedar Lele, CEO India and President India Subcontinent, Haleon, added “Oral health has long been an overlooked part of overall wellbeing, and our mission at Sensodyne is to help change that by making it more understood, more accessible, and more actionable for people. For over a decade, we have been empowering individuals across India to care for their oral health with confidence. Building on this year’s World Oral Health Day, our new initiative leverages the Dental Age Test to give people simple, intuitive insights into how their oral health is progressing and the steps they can take early to protect it. When people have the right information at the right time, they are far more likely to take action and that is where meaningful change begins. Improving everyday oral health requires collective effort from industry, experts, and communities. Our priority will remain expanding awareness and making proactive oral care easier and more inclusive for all, staying true to Haleon’s purpose of delivering better everyday health with humanity.”
The campaign is supported by a multimedia rollout across print, digital, influencer collaborations and on-ground activations. Sensodyne is also working with quick commerce platforms, dental professionals and fitness communities to expand reach and encourage more people to take the test.
