LinkedIn has appointed Heather Freeland as its first-ever Chief Brand Officer.
Freeland brings more than two decades of experience in brand and marketing leadership across some of the world’s most influential companies. Before joining LinkedIn, she served as Chief Brand Officer at Adobe, where she was responsible for shaping the company’s brand strategy and storytelling. Prior to that, she was Vice President of Marketing at Lyft, overseeing brand marketing, growth, product marketing, partner marketing, and creative functions during a phase of rapid expansion.
Her career also includes senior leadership roles at Meta, where she was Head of Global Marketing Communications and founded “The Guild,” the company’s internal global creative and digital agency. Freeland has also contributed her expertise at Ridge Ventures and Spotify through CMO advisory roles.
Earlier in her career, she held key marketing positions at Gilt Groupe, Gilt City, MTV Networks Digital, and Digitas North America, working with major clients such as Nike, Converse, American Express, and Barnes & Noble. She began her professional journey at Widmeyer Communications as Managing Director.
