L’Oréal Paris has launched its first festive campaign in India titled ‘Mujh Mein Hai Diwali’. The film features global brand spokesperson Alia Bhatt alongside her childhood friends Akansha Ranjan Kapoor and Anushka Ranjan, and has been produced by an all-female crew. It explores the festive season through the themes of sisterhood, nostalgia, and self-worth.
Set against traditional festive backdrops, the film aims to depict the emotional warmth of relationships between women and the idea of finding light within oneself. It includes an original song written by Prasoon Joshi and composed by Sneha Khanwalkar, intended to evoke the cultural and emotional essence of Diwali.

Speaking about the film, Dario Zizzi, General Manager, L'Oréal Paris India, said, “With Mujh Mein Hai Diwali, we’re proud to present a film that celebrates not only the festive season but also the relationships and self-worth that lie at its heart. This is our first festive film in India, and we’re delighted to do so with a story that feels authentic and resonates deeply with our consumers.”
The campaign brings together an all-female creative team including director Shirsha Guha Thakurta, producer Ramya Rao, set designer Meenal Agarwal, music director Sneha Khanwalkar, and singer Harjot Kaur.
Prasoon Joshi, Chief Creative Officer - McCann Worldgroup, who conceptualised the campaign, said, “I have always believed that brands in India need more than functionality — they need a true cultural connect. With ‘Mujh Mein Hai Diwali’ (Diwali resides within us all), I wanted to bring that belief alive. The idea poetically reflects the power of inner radiance — that Diwali is not just an external celebration but a festival that lives within each of us. This campaign is close to the entire team’s heart as it celebrates the inner light every woman carries. Collaborating with Alia Bhatt, L’Oréal Paris, Shirsha Guha Thakurta -Director, Sneha Khanwalkar - Music Director, Harjot Kaur - Singer and our incredible team at McCann has been deeply fulfilling and I hope Mujh Mein Hai Diwali truly resonates with audiences.”
Sneha Khanwalkar, who composed the song for the film, remarked, "I’ve always had a special connection with Diwali - somehow driven inwards amidst all the outward noise. Finding the inner me - the connection to Prasoon Joshi’s words was immediate and visceral, expressed beautifully by Alia’s unmatched talent. Sung by Harjot Kaur and arrangements by Raja Rasaily, this has been an unforgettable experience.”
The film will premiere across L’Oréal Paris’ digital and social platforms in the run-up to Diwali. The brand has also planned digital storytelling initiatives, influencer-led conversations, and music-driven festive outreach to accompany the launch.
