Swiggy has released a new episode of its digital series ‘Tikki Talk’, featuring Vikas Khanna in conversation with Rohit Kapoor, CEO, Food Marketplace, Swiggy.
The episode is set at a street-side tikki cart, moving away from conventional formats to present an informal discussion on food, culinary experiences and personal insights. During the interaction, Khanna prepares tikki while sharing perspectives on Indian cuisine and his professional journey.
Khanna, who was recently named in the TIME’s 100 Most Influential People 2026, spoke about the role of online food delivery platforms in supporting small entrepreneurs and expanding access to regional cuisines.
"For people who can’t open or take a risk and invest in big restaurants, this is a safety belt for them,” he said, adding that such platforms have contributed to the growing popularity of regional food across the country. He also acknowledged Swiggy’s role, stating, “Thank you. You gave us hope.”
The conversation also covered his New York restaurant Bungalow, which he described as a personal project. The restaurant received a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2024 for its offering of Indian cuisine.
In the episode, Khanna shared his preferred street food destinations in India, naming Indore, Udupi, Bhubaneswar and Pondicherry among his top choices. He also spoke about his experience with different regional variations of tikki, including those from Amritsar and Surat.
The discussion further touched on his personal food habits, including a preference for simple, satvik meals, as well as reflections on creativity, purpose and family support in pursuing unconventional career paths.
Rohit Kapoor, CEO, Swiggy Food Marketplace, responded during the conversation, "It's a rare privilege. We will see a much, much bigger version of impact on the world in the years to come.”
With ‘Tikki Talk’, Swiggy continues to present conversations around food, culture and the people shaping India’s culinary landscape.
