HERE COMES REDTRO 106.CHAAR

Red FM has just launched its new FM Station in Mumbai - RedTro 106. Chaar – Phir Bajao. It is the first radio station to be introduced under the newly acquired Phase III licenses by the company and promises listeners the best music from the 90s. Here’s what Nisha Narayanan, COO, Red FM has to say about the newest retro music station to hit the airwaves:

ON THE CHANNEL LAUNCH: When we got the second frequency in Mumbai after the first batch of Phase III auctions, we tried to figure out what is the need gap? We were surprised when consumer insights revealed this huge need gap for music from the 90s for the 30-45 age group. The natural decision was to go with retro, but within the retro space, we have created a niche for 90s music and a formatted radio station. We do hope that listeners warm up to the product. It is an adult contemporary station and should beat even the Contemporary Hit Radio (CHR) stations.

ON THE RESPONSE: Excellent. We have a lot of feedback from both clients and agencies. We are also reaching out to listeners in an aggressive way and it’s been extremely encouraging and positive.

ON MARKETING PLANS: When a new brand is launched, the first focus is on building the brand. So, we are looking at a 360-degree aggressive campaign across all touch-points, in a way which is continuous.
