Turning the spotlight on emerging markets that are driving India from within, exchange4media Group and Dainik Jagran unfold the first edition of Real India Conclave – Bihar

“The objective behind ‘Real India’ is to turn the spotlight on emerging markets that are driving India from within. The expectation is to create a platform where the industry can come together and discuss the rise of these markets, the future growth prospects, the changing lifestyles of consumers and the challenges these markets throw up – eventually to generate an in-depth knowledge of these markets,” said Basant Rathore, VP – Strategy, Business and Brand, Jagran.

The meet focused on the state of Bihar in the presence of its key government representative; Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi. Issues Bihar needed to focus on to realize its full potential were addressed. Pradeep Kashyap, Founder and CEO, MART said not just Bihar, almost all states face the crisis of limited resources. “Very few of us know that the top 50 cities that are the hub of all marketing activities account for only 25% of the nation’s GDP (Gross Domestic Product).

On the other hand, the rural hinterland contributes to a massive 50%. But most importantly, the middle tier of some 8,000 small towns also account for around 25%; a fact unknown to many marketers,” he shared. Sushil Kumar Modi, Deputy CM, Bihar also spoke at the conclave. Other speakers at the meet included Alok Bhardwaj, Sr VP Marketing, Canon India; Amit Kapoor, Chairman, Institute of Competitiveness; Anisha Motwani, CMO, Max New York Life Insurance; Harkirat Singh, MD, Woodland; Harshit Kochar, Director, Vi John Group; Salil Kapoor, COO, Dish TV’ Satyajit Sen, CEO, Zenith Optimedia; and Shashi Sinha, CEO, Lodestar Universal.
